How Terror Zones Work
As outlined in the "How Terror Zones work in Diablo II Resurrected" article, each hour a new zone is invaded. Monster levels rise based on the creating player's character level, capping by difficulty. Zone names and waypoints indicate active Terror Zones.
Messages in chat relay zone corruption. Zones stay corrupted until the hour switches, independent of new games. This prevents farming the same low-level zone repeatedly.
Unlocking and Recognizing Terror Zones
To unlock Terror Zones, defeat Baal on the relevant difficulty. Zone invasion messages appear hourly in chat. Waypoints gain a purple tint and map markers flag invaded zones. Experienced players can pre-farm preferred Terror Zones for optimal efficiency.
